From England to Germany and finally back home in Australia, Eva and Kris’ love story found its perfect chapter at The Calile Hotel in Brisbane — a celebration of love and sophistication.
Minimalist flair met personal touches in a black-tie affair to remember, with the hotel’s neutral architectural backdrop perfectly complementing the couple’s vision. The bridal party, adorned in refined silhouettes from our La Lune collection in black and graphite hues, harmonising with the natural tones of the Australian landscape that inspired Eva’s vision.
The multi-day affair showcased Eva’s versatile style, from the Savannah Halter Maxi at their intimate pre-wedding sunset soiree to the Kasbah Utility Set for their post-wedding dinner. In a heartfelt nod to her husband’s heritage, Eva’s wedding look featured a custom tulle skirt and scarf crafted by South Indian artisans, paired with a relaxed yet contemporary corset—a seamless blend of tradition and modernity.

Kris and I met in 2015 at a casual job in Sydney. We were both backpackers at the time (I'm from Germany and he's from England). We got along really well and started hanging out outside of work where it eventually became clear that we were more than just friends. We became official in April 2016 and shortly after moved in together. We lived in Melbourne for three years before moving to the Gold Coast in May 2019.
Kris proposed to me in November 2022 on a boat here in the Gold Coast. It was such a beautiful afternoon on the water and we were lucky enough to have the most stunning sunset. The sky was literally on fire. It is crazy to think that a young girl from Germany and a young boy from England met on the other side of the world, grew up together, achieved their dream of becoming permanent residents of Australia and eventually married each other. This has been a challenging but beautiful journey and the wedding was the icing on the cake.

We chose to have the wedding at the Calile Hotel as we loved the idea of having all our loved ones staying in one location. I also find the hotel very much aesthetically pleasing (lots of concrete, neutral colours) and knew that the decorations could be kept minimal for the day. I got the inspo for the decorations on pinterest and sourced all the decorations myself. We added some personal touches with personalised matchboxes and a little limoncello bottles to take home. We are planning to do our honeymoon in Europe next year and for a wedding gift, we asked our guests to contribute to our honeymoon fund (to sip Limoncello in Italy).

Another statement piece on the table were the green olives in silver cups. I love the idea of food as decoration and the green and silver looked so chic together. I also decided on doing the florals by myself. A couple of weeks prior to the wedding, I went to Brisbane Flower Markets and bought a bunch of flowers to have a little play around with at home. Again, I was looking for something very minimal, mostly green florals with a touch of white. I shared my vision to my wonderful bridesmaids who helped me execute it perfectly on the day. I really loved our super large cake! I have seen a couple of those cakes on Pinterest and needed to have it. It turned out exactly as I wanted and looked so fun in the photos - plus it was delicious!

As you can probably tell by now, I do like minimal chic! The dress code for all guests was black tie and I also provided a colour palette for the ladies to follow when choosing a gown. I know - how very OCD of me! But I think a colour palette can be great guidance when you don't know what to wear as a wedding guest. The colours I had in mind are dark neutral tones inspired by the Australian landscape and ocean. I envisioned similar colours for my bridesmaids, dark muted colours.
Most of my bridesmaids wear mostly neutral colours on a daily basis so it felt unnatural choosing a very colourful style for them. I came across the La Lune Collection in the colours Black and Graphite and knew they would be the perfect fit. I asked my bridesmaids to choose a style they would feel most comfortable in and they looked absolutely beautiful on the day. The girls told me on the day that they felt amazing on the day and that the dresses felt natural and most importantly that they didn’t feel ‘dressed up’ or over the top. My bridesmaids’ dresses worked very well with the boys in their tuxedos and contrasted perfectly against my husbands and my outfits.
For my look, I chose to go with a corset, tulle skirt and scarf made out of the same fabric as the skirt. I had the skirt and scarf made in South India, where my husband’s family is from. I really wanted a part of India with me on the day so getting these two pieces made in the town where my husband's parents grew up made it feel extra special. I also love the fact that I can wear the corset again.

The night before the wedding we had a casual get together in our suite overlooking the Brisbane sunset, where I opted for the Savannah Halter Open Back Maxi Dress in Pearl which was the perfect match. On the evening after the wedding we had a lovely dinner with close friends and comfort was key for that night, whilst obviously still wanting to look fabulous, so the Kasbah Utility Cargo Set in Rice ticked all boxes!
