A kiss on the dance floor. A golden hour yes by the coast. Olivia and Lachie’s story is one of quiet magnetism; a love that moved with ease and intention. Set against the soft sprawl of Summergrove Estate, their day unfolded in tones of ivory, foliage and feeling. Thoughtful. Undone. Completely their own. Olivia shares the moments in between — from curated silhouettes, sunset rosé and the kind of love that asks for nothing but to be felt.

I always knew of Lachie from the area, having grown up on the Northern Beaches where he surfed with my brother and dad. We were both at a mutual friend’s 21st birthday party, where we shared our first kiss on the dance floor. After a few weeks of messaging during the busy holiday season, we finally went on our first proper date in January 2018. We instantly hit it off, and after two bottles of rosé, we found ourselves at a club, dancing the night away. From that moment on, we were inseparable.
Lach proposed on the 23rd of December 2023. We were both up on the Gold Coast for Christmas with my family. We spent the day in Brisbane, having a lovely Christmas lunch with Lach’s family, before making our way back to the Gold Coast for an afternoon rosé by the spit at Southport. By the time we arrived back to the coast, I was completely stuffed from lunch and tried to opt out of our picnic plans, but Lach wasn’t having any of it. So, we set up our picnic rug, and he insisted I go over to the rocks to get a photo with the sunset.
As I turned back around, he was down on one knee, asking me to marry him. It was one of those magical moments - just the two of us, with the stunning summer sun setting over the water. Naturally, I had to ask if anyone knew this was happening. My sister Chloe and her husband Fisher popped over to celebrate with us, and we toasted with champagne and snapped some pictures. They left, and Lachie and I stayed behind, watching the sunset and FaceTiming our friends and family to share the news.

The Gold Coast will always hold a special place in our hearts – it’s where we got engaged and where we spent a lot of time with family. As minimalists at heart, we knew we wanted something simple yet stunning, and Summergrove Estate in the lush Northern NSW hinterland ticked all the boxes.

With Lach working as a landscaper, it’s no surprise we were instantly drawn to the venue’s beautiful landscape and greenery. We kept our florals low-key with classic whites and plenty of fresh foliage to compliment the natural surroundings.
I’d been to a wedding at Summergrove a few years ago, and the food had stuck with me ever since- so we were beyond excited for the canapés on the lawn post-ceremony, followed by cocktails outside the barn. Since my sister and her husband Fisher own Fizz, we couldn’t resist serving custom Fizz cans as a playful, personal touch for our guests.
After our sit-down dinner, our DJ took over- and let’s just say, the dance floor was never empty. The party kicked off with me up on someone’s shoulders, whistle in hand, blasting Fisher’s “It’s That Time”. It was an unforgettable night full of energy, laughter, and love.

When I first started searching for bridesmaid inspiration, I’ll be honest – I felt completely overwhelmed. There are so many options out there, but no matter how far I looked, I kept coming back to Shona Joy.
The loungewear was actually the first thing I locked in. It was a no-brainer for our getting-ready looks: effortlessly chic, super comfy, and the perfect keepsake for my girls. I styled my bridesmaids in the matching top and shorts, while I wore the same set in the dress version- it felt cohesive but still gave me that little bridal moment.
When it came to the dresses, I wanted something floor length and different- something that felt timeless but had its own unique edge. I’d seen so many bridal parties in similar silhouettes, and I was craving a look that felt elevated and fresh. The La Lune dress with the delicate lace trim instantly stood out. It wasn’t just another bridesmaid dress; it had this refined, effortless elegance that made it feel truly special. The low, criss-cross back was the perfect unexpected detail, and the fit was so flattering on every one of my girls.

For my wedding look, I wore a strapless Kyha gown and I truly felt like a princess. The structured corset bodice flowed into a full, dreamy tulle skirt, and it was everything I had ever imagined and more. I styled the look with my hair half-up, pearl drop earrings, and classic Prada kitten heel- elegant, effortless, and perfectly me.
Later in the evening, I slipped into a second Kyha dress to dance the night away. It was the perfect transition for the party and made me feel just as special. From my own bridal look to the stunning bridesmaid dresses, everything came together so beautifully- I honestly couldn’t have dreamed of a more perfect day.
